VMI vs. Youngstown State

Sept. 11th, 2005

Penguin Classic, Youngstown, Ohio

A Trip To Remember

The Women's Soccer team took a long bus ride to Ohio this weekend to compete in the Penguin Classic at Youngstown State University. You ban bet the bus ride home was fun. Friday's game was a quality game against a quality opponent. Saturday's game saw two excellent goals coming as a result of excellent teamwork, culminated with dynamic, well placed shots that RIPPED THE NETS.

What makes this trip so memorable was the star of the game. Colleen Redmond performed as usual, getting off quite a few good shots and Celine Ziobro continued to show that solid defense is the norm, but neither stood out. The Star this weekend was the entire team. Everyone on the field gave 110% and played good, sound soccer. They certainly put on a memorable performance for the handful of parents who traveled to Ohio.

Susan Ziobro wins the “Long Distance Traveler” award for flying in from Las Vegas. She was joined by Chris and Bill Redmond, and Suzy Strand and her father. There is no doubt that those who made this journey will remember it for a long time. What a Trip!
